GetSteps UI Design
GetSteps is a lifestyle / Health start-up based in Berlin. They offer custom-made, orthopaedic shoe inserts in a simple and innovative way.
I worked with the founders of GetSteps to create two new textile designs for their insole inserts. I researched the current textile trends, target market, fabric testing and did multiple variations of each design. Finally as a team GetSteps selected their favourite two designs and we launched them on social media.
The process
After researching trends and competitors I presented my findings to our co-founders and we decided on 3 - 4 directions to start creating designs. Over the next month I painted patterns and shapes that were then converted into seamless vector files. Each pattern was presented in multiple colours and went through voting and feedback rounds within the GetSteps team.
Test printing
After 2 months we had narrowed down our designs and started test printing. This took longer than expected as our external sources had a few machine malfunctions and colours weren’t matching the pantones we had specified. I learnt a lot during this project and it was a huge accomplishment to have the final product in hand.
